Memories Are Never Ending

Memories are never really ending.

They are like a lamp lit within you, sometimes glowing softly in the background, sometimes suddenly becoming brighter and bringing an entire moment back to life.

There are beautiful memories, painful memories, memories that make us smile, and others that still carry a little ache. Some memories we hold close because they remind us of love, laughter, and moments we never want to forget. Others, we wish we could simply put away.

But the mind has its own way of wandering.

Sometimes I catch myself going back to old conversations, old places, old relationships, and moments that have already passed. And then I consciously stop myself. Not because those memories don’t matter, but because I don’t want to keep living inside them.

Maybe this, too, is a part of healing.

Healing isn’t necessarily about forgetting. It may be about learning that we can remember without returning.

I don’t have to fight every memory that comes. I don’t have to analyse it, change it, or find another ending for it. I can simply acknowledge it and allow it to pass.

Some memories will always remain a part of me. They have shaped me, taught me, broken me, strengthened me, and helped me understand who I am today.

But they don’t have to define where I go next.

Perhaps healing is when the lamp within us continues to burn, but we no longer need to keep staring into its light.

We can honour what was, gently release what no longer serves us, and turn our eyes toward what is still unfolding.

Because memories may be never-ending.

But our life is still being written.

I have been into healing since April 1996. I am a perseverant learner and have mastered all levels of Reiki and other modalities including Theta healing, Affirmations, Decrees, NLP& Switch words. I have been teaching Usui Reiki since Jan 2010 and i integrate my healing with Psychology as i firmly believe true and honest communication and understanding of self and others is a essential part of healing. For me healing is journey and not a destination. Self-healing and self-love are everyday rituals of self-care and not as and when we need it.
