Words become perceptions.
Perceptions become beliefs.
Beliefs become the lens through which we see life.
But is perception reality?
Not always.
What we perceive is often coloured by our history, our wounds, our fears, our expectations and the stories we have been telling ourselves.
Two people can experience the same situation and walk away with completely different realities.
The situation is the same.
The meaning is different.
And sometimes, the words spoken to us become the voice we carry within us.
“You are not good enough.”
“You are too sensitive.”
“You are difficult.”
“You will never succeed.”
At some point, we may stop hearing these as someone else’s words and begin believing they are the truth about who we are.
This is where awareness becomes freedom.
Because not every thought is a fact.
Not every perception is reality.
And not every story we inherited deserves to be continued.
Sometimes healing is simply learning to ask:
“Is this actually what is happening or is this how I have learned to perceive what is happening?”
That question can change everything.
Because when we change the lens, we don’t necessarily change the world.
We change the way we experience it.
